Teacher Self-Care 101

The altruism displayed by teachers is second to none. The willingness they have to sacrifice for others, specifically their students, cannot be understated. Unfortunately, in dedicating so much of this time to others, teachers will rarely be able to find the time to dedicate to themselves. So much so that they may find themselves spiraling in their own lives outside of the classroom. Even despite the fact that the value they provide to their students, families and their friends is quite obvious, many teachers will convince themselves that it’s not enough. Can the small victories throughout the day truly be enough to keep these thoughts at bay? It’s up to teachers to truly relish in these moments and the feelings that come from them, such as a funny moment with a student or a bonding experience with a faculty member. Finding the good in all that comes throughout the day is a great strategy to begin the self-care journey. However, that is a journey that is never finished. So, to learn more about the methods teachers are using to continue their perpetual journey to a healthier self through self-care, please see the resource supported alongside this post.
